Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester-based film useful for magnetic recording medium, having excellent adhesivity to magnetic recording layer, etc., blocking resistance by coating at least one side of a substrate film with a specific phosphorus- containing copolyester. CONSTITUTION:At least one side of a substrate film composed of a polyester- based resin is coated with a phosphorus-containing copolyester which is a water- dispersible and water-insoluble phosphorus-containing copolyester prepared by reacting at least one of compounds of formula I to formula V (X and Y are ester-forming functional group; R1 is 3-10C trifunctional hydrocarbon group; R is 1-12C alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, etc.; R3 and R7 are 1-12C alkylene, cycloalkylene, arylene, etc.; M is alkali metal atom, H, monofunctional hydrocarbon group or amino group) in an amount to give 100-10,000ppm calculated as phosphorus atom contained in the reaction system with a polyester and has <=10 large protrusions based on 100cm<2> when made into a film to give a polyester-based film for magnetic recording medium.
