Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a dyed material of a polyester fiber material suitable for automobile interiors, tents, etc., and improved in weather resistance by applying a specific ultraviolet light absorber to a dyed polyester fiber material.
CONSTITUTION: An ultraviolet light absorber expressed by the formula [R1 and R2 are each H, an alkyl, an alkoxy or a halogen; R3 is H, an alkyl, an alkoxy or an aryl which is substituted by halogen; R4 and R5 are each H, hydroxyl, an alkyl, an alkoxy or a halogen; A is an alkylene or a hydroxyalkylene) is added to a dyeing bath of a polyester fiber material so as to apply an amount of 0.001-10 pts.wt. of the light absorber based on 100 pts.wt. polyester fiber material to simultaneously carry out dyeing of the fiber material and absorption of the absorber. Furthermore, the ultraviolet light absorber may previously be applied to the fiber material before dyeing or applied after dyeing in addition to the above simultaneous treatment with dyeing.
