PURPOSE: To obtain the titled fiber exhibiting sufficient elongation characteristics in forming, free from hitching, etc., in warping, having excellent knittability and suitable as a material for interior trim of automobile, etc., by spinning fibers in such a manner as to give specific primary yield point, elongation at break and total denier.
CONSTITUTION: The objective fiber having a primary yield point of ≥95g, elongation at break of ≥135% and a total fineness of ≤125 denier can be produced by metering a polyester containing ethylene terephthalate as main recurring unit with a gear pump, etc., ejecting from a spinneret, annealing in a heat- insulating zone having a length of preferably ≥100mm, cooling with chilled air blasted against the fiber, lubricating the fiber and taking off at a take-off speed of preferably 3,000W4,000m/min.
