Abstract:
To provide a polyester enabling control of the biodegradable rate and containing a diol and a dicarboxylic acid as constituent components.
A high-molecular weight and biodegradable polyester includes a diol and a dicarboxylic acid as constituent components, wherein at least one of component of the raw materials is derived from biomass resources and sulfur atom content in the polyester is ≥0.0001 ppm and ≤50 ppm, expressed in terms of atom, and the polyester is used as a resin can contribute greatly to solve environmental problems and problems related to exhaustion of fossil fuel resources and have physical properties suited for practical use.
