Abstract:

To provide a polymerization catalyst which gives a polyester scarcely containing foreign matters and having good color tone, and a manufacturing process of the polyester using it.

The catalyst for polymerizing the polyester is a compound in which the number of titanium atoms in one molecule is 4-8, the composition ratio of titanium atoms to phosphorus atoms is 0.7-2, and which has at least one Ti-O-Ti bond. The manufacturing process of the polyester uses it.
