Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester resin composition having excellent heat- resistance and chemical resistance and low water-absorption and mold shrinkage by compounding a specific amount of a specific cycloolefin random copolymer. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) 2-98wt.% (preferably 5-95wt.%) of a polyester resin composed of the recurring unit of formula I [R<11> and R<12> are aliphatic, alicyclic or aromatic hydrocarbon (derivative) group; p is positive integer] (e.g., polyethylene terephthalate or polybutylene terephthalate) with (B) 2-98wt.% (preferably 5-95wt.%) of a cycloolefin random copolymer composed of a cycloolefin component of formula II or formula III (n and m are 0 or positive integer; l is >=3; R<1>-R<10> are H, halogen, etc.) and having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.05-10dl/g (preferably 0.08-5dl/g), a softening point of >=70 deg.C (preferably 100-200 deg.C) and a glass transition temperature of 50-230 deg.C.
