PURPOSE: To obtain a yarn useful for woven fabric and knitted fabric, having excellent dry touch properties and drape properties, comprising polyester multifilament yarn of specific collected polyester filaments wherein unevenness of thickness is randomly dispersed in the direction of yarn length between single yarns.
CONSTITUTION: The objective yarn which is polyester multifilament yarn of collected polyester filament containing ≥3wt.% fine particles such as alumina having ≤1μm average particle diameter, ≤2.0 refractive index and 22.5 true specific gravity and having unevenness of thickness in the length direction wherein the unevenness of thickness of filament is dispersed in the length direction of yarn between single yarns. The yarn is preferably drawn partially at a temperature of ≤the second transition point -10°C in a low draw ratio of ≤natural draw ratio and a fiber product having an excellent color tone and excellent swelling is obtained by using the yarn.
