To provide a polyetherester fiber having excellent antioxidation stability, heat resistance, and further elasticity characteristics, dyeable to a clear color, and hardly causing deterioration in tensile strength and elasticity characteristics after dyeing.
The polyetherester fiber comprises a polyetherester composed of a main dicarboxylic acid component composed of terephthalic acid, and a main diol component composed of 1,3-propylene glycol and a polyalkylene ether glycol having a number-average molecular weight of 500-20,000 and having a copolymerization ratio of 35-80 wt.%. The polyetherester fiber satisfies following (1) to (5): (1) 1.0 dl/greduced viscosity (sp/c)4.0 dl/g, (2) terminal carboxy group content20 milliequivalents/kg fiber, (3) copolymerization ratio of bis(3-hydroxypropyl)ether1.8 wt.%, (4) tensile strength0.3 cN/dtex, and elongation200%, and (5) 70% elastic recovery after repeating 200% elongation 3 times in either case after a heat treatment at 140C for 4 h or after a treatment in hot water at 95C for 4 h, and 60% holding ratio of the stress at 160% extension during the third shrinkage to the stress at 160% extension during the third extension.
