The polyethylene terephthalate composition and the film comprise a polyethylene terephthalate synthesized with an alkaline earth metal compound and a titanium compound. The amounts of the alkaline earth metal compound and the titanium compound simultaneously satisfy the equations (1)-(3): 10≤M+4Ti≤60 (1); 5≤M/Ti≤30 (2); and 0<Ti≤5 (3) (wherein M and Ti are each a molar concentration (millimole%) of the alkaline earth metal element and the titanium element to the whole dicarboxylic acid component).
