Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a polylactic acid capable of suppressing crystallinity and controlling impact resistance, toughness, flexibility, biodegradability, etc., correspondingly to the object or uses.
CONSTITUTION: This high molecular weight polylactic acid copolymer comprises a copolymer composed of lactic acid, an aliphatic and/or aromatic dicarboxylic acid and an oligoalkylene oxide having hydroxyl groups at both ends and having ≤10 polymerization degree and has ≥50% weight ratio of the lactic acid component. The copolymer is obtained by combining an oligoalkylene oxide having hydroxyl groups at both terminals with a dicarboxylic acid so as to become nearly equimolar and copolymerizing a polylactic acid with these components. The copolymer has improved impact resistance, toughness, flexibility and biodegradability, etc.
