Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a composition, capable of improving flexibility and heat resistance without deteriorating mechanical strength and suitable as covering materials, etc., for electric wires and cables by blending chlorinated polyethylene with ultralow-density polyethylene and liquid silicone rubber. CONSTITUTION:A polymer blend composition, obtained by blending 100 pts.wt. polymer blend composed of (A) 10-80wt.% chlorinated polyethylene and (B) 90-20wt.% ultralow-density polyethylene having 0.882-0.910g/cm<3> density with (C) 10-100 pts.wt. liquid silicone rubber capable of vulcanizing reaction in the presence of a platinum compound and forming a network structure in which the chlorinated polyethylene and the ultralow-density polyethylene are copolymerized but solely crosslinked with the silicone rubber each other and mutually penetrated.
