Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a polymer dispersion type liquid crystal composite film having low driving voltage, high contrast and high retention by using a liquid crystal material having a functional group of F or Cl, which is chemically stable polar group, as a essential structural atom and a high polymer material.
CONSTITUTION: This polymer dispersion type liquid crystal composite film is composed of a liquid crystal mixture selected from a group composed of compounds expressed by formula I and formula II. And the liquid crystal mixture is incorporated in the ratio of 50-100wt.% and dispersed in a matrix high polymer and the high polymer dispersion type liquid crystal composite film is formed by phase separating a liquid crystal from a uniform mixture with a common solvent of the liquid crystal material and the matrix high polymer. In formula I, each of A1 and A2 represents benzen ring, cyclohexane ring or the like, each of X1-X6 represents H, F and Cl. Each of Z1, Z2 and Q represents a single bond, -CH2- or the like, Y represents H, F or Cl, R represents CnH2n-1- or the like, (m) is 0-2. And in formula II, each of B and C represents CnH2n-1-, CnH2n-1O- or the like and L represents H or F.
