To provide a polymer electrolyte secondary battery equipped with a positive electrode with which the amount of carbonaceous material to occlude and release lithium ions is increased to lead to the increase of the capacity by reducing the adding amount of a polymer, which contributes to the retention of electrolytic solution, giving a flexibility and mechanical strength, relatively without dropping the flexibility and mechanical strength.
A polymer electrolyte secondary battery includes an active material, a positive electrode 2 containing non-aqueous electrolytic solution and polymer for retaining the solution, a carbonaceous material to occlude and release lithium ions, non-aqueous electrolytic solution, and a negative electrode 4 containing a rubber not soluble in the non-aqueous electrolytic solution and soluble in an organic solvent and a polymer for retaining the solution. The arrangement further includes a solid polymer electrolyte layer 5 interposed between the two electrodes 2, 4 and containing non-aqueous electrolytic solution and a polymer for retaining it.
