To provide a high polymer gel capable of recovering various metals and having general purpose, and a metal recovery method.SOLUTION: In a high polymer gel has an acrylamide monomer, an alkylene chain having 2 or more carbon atoms between a terminal amino group and an acryl amide group, a methacrylamide group, an acryl group or a methacryl group, a methacryl amide monomer, acrylate monomer, or a methacrylate monomer are polymerized, and a chloride ion, a hydrogen sulfide ion, a sulfide ion, a bicarbonate ion, a carbonate ion, a hydrogenphosphate ion, a dihydrogen phosphate ion, a phosphate ion, an oxalic hydrogen ion, an oxalate ion, sulfite ion, or sulfate ion is added to a terminal, metal chloride, metal sulfide, metal carbonate, metal phosphate, metal oxalate, and metal sulfate of a metal is generated in a network space of the high polymer gel.SELECTED DRAWING: None
