Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a polymer glucoprotein mixture capable of using as a raw material for drink and food and medicines in order to protect infection of virus because of activity inhibiting proliferation of virus and capable of utilizing as drink and food and medicines suppressing diarrhea caused by infection of virus.

CONSTITUTION: This polymer glucoprotein mixture is composed of 78-82wt.% of a protein component and 18-22wt.% of sugar component and has 200000-500000 dalton molecular weight measured by gel filtration method and consists of at least two kinds of glucoproteins each having 180000-200000 dalton (PAS-I) and 80000 dalton (80K) and has protecting action on infection of a virus (human rotavirus). This virus infection protecting composition contains the polymer glucoprotein mixture as an active ingredient. Furthermore, this method for producing the polymer glucoprotein mixture is provided.
