To obtain the subject polymer-immobilized lithium amide that permits the reaction product to be readily separated or recovered through simple filtration operations with environmental loading reduced in a variety of deprotonation by allowing an amine immobilized to a polymer to react with a lithiation agent or the like.
A polymer-immobilized amine of formula I (R1 and R2 are each H, an alkyl, an aryl, an aralkyl; R3 is an alkyl, an aryl, aralkyl; n is 0-10; P is a polymer chain) (for example, 2,4-polymer-immobilized benzyl- cyclohexylamine) is allowed to react with a lithiation agent (for example, butyllithium), preferably at room temperature for 30 minutes to give a compound of formula II. The use of the resultant lithium amide in a variety of organic synthetic reactions such as asymmetric syntheses manifests the reactivity induced by the molecular steric effect and the stereoselectivity.
