Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer insulator that prevents degradation of the core material due to moisture absorption, is simply constructed and ensures maintaining the attachment, and provide a method of manufacturing the insulator.
SOLUTION: A metal support 10 has a tubular part 15 for receiving one end of a core material 1, and a bottom part 13 provided with a hole 11 for receiving the shaft part of a pin bolt 20. In addition, a sealing member 30 is installed at the metal support 10 to prevent moisture from infiltrating the hole 11 into the tubular part 15. Thus, the core material 1 is not degraded by moisture infiltrating the hole 11, and the insulator may be made compact with improved workability and reduced cost. Besides the reduction of the whole size results in a decreased rotational moment to ensure maintaining the mounting condition even with one end of the metal support 10 only fixed to an arm 40.
