To provide a water-drip-shade-equipped polymer insulator and a method for manufacturing the same, by which a polymer insulator can be provided with a water drip shade without requiring a large mold and the water- drip-shade-equipped polymer insulator is not broken through.

In a polymer insulator 11 comprising a core part 12, a shell part 13 provided on the outer peripheral surface of the core part 12, and a shade part 14 provided to project from the shell part 13, a water drip shade 1 provided with intermittent gaps 4 at its root 3 facing the shell part 13 is molded independently of a general shade part 14, and the water drip shade 1 molded is added to the shell part 13 of the polymer insulator 11 to manufacture a water-drip-shade-equipped polymer insulator.
