Title:
POLYMER PARTICLE HAVING LIVING INITIATING SPECIES AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2004018556
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a spherical polymer fine particle capable of carrying out graft polymerization, having a narrow distribution of molecular weight and a uniform particle diameter and containing an initiating group for a living radical polymerization reaction and a method for producing the spherical polymer fine particle and to provide a functional spherical composite fine particle comprising the polymer fine particle as a base particle and a method for producing the functional spherical composite fine particle.

The true spherical or nearly spherical polymer fine particle is composed of a polymer having a repeating unit represented by formula (1) [(S1)m-A1]n (wherein, S1s are each a binding group derived from a reactive double bond-containing monomer; A1s are each a binding group derived from a reactive double bond-containing monomer having an initiating group for an atom transfer radical polymerization reaction; S1s and A1s may be each the same or different; m is an integer of 0-100,000; and n is an integer of 3-100,000) in the main chain and capable of carrying out the graft polymerization. The method for producing the spherical polymer fine particle, etc., are provided.
