Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve strength, heat resistance, wear resistance, etc., of polymer product by reirradiating a polymer product with radiation to promote crosslinking reaction and graft reaction and to control molecular weight and degree of polymerization. CONSTITUTION:A raw material discharged from a raw material feed part 11 is sent to an irradiating device 12 of preferably gamma-rays, electron rays, X-rays, ultraviolet rays, etc., irradiated with radiation from a radiation source 13 and polymerized. The polymerized raw material is sent to a recovery device 14 of polymer product and separated into an unreacted monomer or oligomer and the polymer product. The unreacted monomer is returned to the raw material feed part 11 and on the contrary, the polymer product is refed to the irradiating device 12, irradiated with radiation and modified.
