To prepare a polymeric composite material which has excellent thermal and mechanical properties by incorporating particular two or more polymers contg. a cyclic conjugated diene monomer unit and/or a cyclic olefin monomer unit.
At least two polymers selected from polymers and modified polymers represented by formulae I and II are incorporated to prepare a polymeric composite material useful for the preparation of an elastic fiber, an automatic part and the like. In the formulae I and II, A to F are monomer units constituting the main chain of the polymer and may be arranged in any order; (a) to (f) are wt.% of respective monomer units; the number average mol.wt. of the polymer is 500 to 5,000,000 in terms of that of standard polystyrene; A represents a cyclic olefin monomer unit; B represents a cyclic conjugated diene monomer unit; C represents a chain conjugated diene monomer unit; D represents an aliph. vinyl monomer unit; E represents a polar monomer unit; F represents an ethylene monomer unit; S to X represent a modifying group; a+b+c+d+e+f=100; and 0<s+t+u+v+w<100.
