Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a polymeric gel the bases of which can be kneaded without gelation and which can easily be applied to a substrate and can gel within several to several tens of minutes after application and the production time of which is markedly shortened as compared with that of the conventional process.
CONSTITUTION: A polymeric gel is prepared by the gelation of a mixture essentially consisting of a water-soluble polymer containing an unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acid or its salt as a monomer component, aluminum hydroxide prepared be neutralizing a water-soluble aluminum compound with an alkali when it is used, at least one hydroxycarboxylic acid or anhydride thereof selected from among glucuronic acid, glucono-δ-lactone, glycolic acid, glyceric acid, galacturonic acid, galactonic acid and galactono-γ-lactone, and water.
