Abstract:

To provide a method for producing a catalyst composition including a polymer bidentate ligand and use of a hydrocyanation reaction, an isomerization reaction, and a hydroformylation reaction using the catalyst composition.

The polymeric phosphorus-containing composition is produced by heating ethylenically substituted phosphonylated 2,2'-dihydroxyl-1,1'-binaphthalene, ethylenically substituted phosphonylated 2,2'-dihydroxyl-1,1'-biphenylene, or at least one ethylenically substituted 2,2'-dihydroxyl-1,1'-biphenylene or ethylenically substituted 2,2'-dihydroxyl-1,1'-biphenylene to be later subjected to phosphonylation. These polymers and the corresponding phosphonylated 2,2'-dihydroxyl-1,1'-binaphthalene or phosphonylated 2,2'-dihydroxyl-1,1'-biphenylene monomers are combined with a group VIII metal.
