Abstract:
To provide a polymerizable optically active compound which has a large HTP, is excellent in compatibility with other liquid crystal materials, and can be produced by an economical method.
This compound represented by formula: R-P-X-(A-Z)m-Y [wherein, R is a polymerizable group such as CH2=C(R1)-COO or CH2=CH (R1 is H or methyl); P is a single bond or a 1-12C alkylene; X is a single bond, O, S, COO, OCO, CON(R3), N(R3)CO or OCOO (R3 is H or methyl); A is an aromatic ring or an aliphatic ring; Z is a single bond, COO, OCO, or CH2CH2; (m) is an integer of 0 to 3; Y is a group represented by formula (3-1), (3-2) or (3-3)].
