Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition which is rendered storage-stable by preventing the contained thiocarboxylic ester compound from causing spontane ous polymerization during storage by mixing the thiocarboxylic acid ester com pound with a specified monomer having a specified polymerizable functional group. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. thiocarboxylic acid ester compound of formula I [wherein R<1> is H or CH3; R<2> and R<3> are each H or an alkyl; R<4> is H, a (substituted) alkyl, a (substituted) aryl or a (substituted) aralkyl; and (m) is an integer >=1] (e.g. a compound of formula II) is mixed with 0.1-20 pts.wt. monomer having a (substituted) isopropenyl group which constitutes neither methacryloyloxy nor methacryloylthio in the molecule (e.g. alpha-methylstyrene) and/or monomer having one (substituted) allyl in the molecule (e.g. allylbenzene). The contained thiocarboxylic acid ester compound can be prevented from caus ing spontaneous polymerization during storage, so that a polymerizable composi tion of good storage stability can be obtained.
