Abstract:

To improve the adhesiveness of a polymerizable liquid crystal composition when applied to a film substrate, e.g. a triacetylcellulose(TAC) film, and hardened and the storage stability of the composition when used in PSA display elements and provide a liquid crystal display element having improved displaying characteristics.

Polymerizable compounds of formula (I) are provided, and an optically anisotropic film and a liquid crystal display element using the polymerizable compounds are also provided.
