Abstract:
To provide a polymerizable liquid crystal composition that contains a polymerizable liquid crystal compound having reverse wavelength dispersibility or low wavelength dispersibility, which can be vertically orientated without a vertical orientation film, an optical anisotropic substance and a phase difference film obtained by curing the composition, and an elliptic polarization plate and a display device using the phase difference film.SOLUTION: The present invention is a polymerizable liquid crystal composition containing: a) a polymerizable compound having two or more polymerizable groups and satisfying formula (I): Re(450nm)/Re(550nm)<1.0 (where Re (450nm) represents an in-plane phase difference at a wavelength of 450 nm when the polymerizable compound having two or more polymerizable groups is horizontally oriented on a substrate in such a way that the long-axis direction of molecules is substantially parallel to the substrate, and Re (550nm) represents an in-plane phase difference at a wavelength of 550 nm when the polymerizable compound having one polymerizable group or the polymerizable compound having two or more polymerizable groups is horizontally oriented on the substrate in such a way that the long-axis direction of molecules is substantially parallel to the substrate; and b) an autonomously-orienting compound.SELECTED DRAWING: None
