NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown [R is 1W8C alkyl, (substituted)phenyl or (substituted)phenyl or (substituted)benzyl; R3 is 3W6C methylene; R10 is H or methyl].
EXAMPLE: N-[3-(Tributylstannyl)propyl]methacrylamide.
USE: A monomer for producing polymers. Providing a homopolymer and copolymer having low hydrolyzing properties and stability, useful as a component for preventing adhesion of organisms living in the sea, resist resin, coating compounds, etc. A reducing catalyst consisting of a halogenated or hydrogenated copolymer of this polymerizable organotin compound and a vinyl aromatic compound is especially important as a dehalogenating catalyst having high regeneration ratio.
PREPARATION: For example, an organotin hydride shown by the formula R3SnH is reacted with a nitrile compound (e.g. acrylonitrile, etc.) containing a terminal vinyl group in the presence of a radial generator to give a nitrile compound containing the terminal vinyl group converted into hydrostannyl. Then the compound is reduced to give a primary amine, which is further reacted with a (meth)acrylic acid halide.
