To provide a polymerized organic compound comprising a nitrogen-having heterocycle containing a sulfonic acid group or a sulfonic acid base and a nitrogen-having heterocycle derivative containing a sulfonic acid group or a sulfonic acid base which are high in radical resistance, excellent in proton transmission and have high ion exchange capacities and high activities as acid catalysts; a medicament, a disinfectant, of an antibiotic, an ion exchanger, an electrolyte membrane, a catalyst, a membrane electrode conjugate, and a fuel cell using the same.
The polymerized organic compound which has a nitrogen-having heterocycle containing an O-alkylene sulfonic acid group or an O-alkylene sulfonic acid base as the constituent unit in the molecule can be obtained by using a pyridine derivative, which has a nitrogen-having heterocycle containing an O-alkylene sulfonic acid group or an O-alkylene sulfonic acid base as the constituent unit in the molecule, as a starting substance to carry out various kinds polymerization reactions by itself or with a suitable reagent.
