Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a low-viscosity polyol which rapidly reacts with an org. polyisocyanate, gives a polyurethane foam excellent in low-temp. dimensional stability, compression strength, etc., even when compounded with an increased amt. of water as a blowing agent and a decreased amt. of a chlorofluorocarbon blowing agent, and is useful in spray foaming or board formation for producing a thermal insulant or building material. CONSTITUTION:A rigid polyurethane foam is produced by reacting an org. polyisocyanate with a polyol component which has a mean hydroxyl value of 200-600mgKOH/g and comprises a mixture of a polyol consisting of alkylene oxide adduct of diethylenetriamine and/or triethylenetramine and having a mean hydroxyl value of 200-800mgKOH/g with another polyol.
