To provide a coating composition capable of forming a coating film excellent in a processability/hardness balance, adhesion, processability, sanitariness, flavor retention characteristics, and boiling water resistance and more particularly to provide a coating material suited for coating a metal cap inner surface coating and requiring adhesiveness to polyolefin and the easiness of opening a stopper.

The coating composition comprises a polyester polyol resin (A) having a number-average molecular weight of 1,000 to 100,000, a hydroxyl number of 3 to 40 mg KOH/g, and a glass transition temperature of 10 to 90°C, a resol phenolic resin crosslinking agent (B), a resin dispersion (C) prepared by dispersing polar-group-containing polyolefin resin particles in an organic solvent, a wax solution and/or a wax dispersion (D) prepared by dissolving or dispersing a modified wax formed by modification with a fluororesin or a reactive silicone compound and having a melting point of 90°C or higher in an organic solvent, and an acid catalyst (E).
