PURPOSE: To provide polyolefinic particle foam molded object having a smooth surface and compressed only in its outer layer part used as a cushioning material.

CONSTITUTION: A particle foam molded object of a polyolefin base material has one core and at least one compressed smooth outer layer (skin) with a thickness of 0.003-3 mm and an average density of 0.4-0.98 g/cm3 and is produced by compressing a foam molded object having no outer layer (skin) in a preheating mold having no nozzle and holding the compressed one in a mold heated to a temp. within the melting range of a polyolefin until the objective outer layer is formed.
