Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled foam having a surface functional group ratio detected by X-ray electron spectrometry falling within a specific range, having excellent weldability, easily workable by end face working and weld bonding and suitable as an interior material for automobile, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A foamed material having an expansion ratio of preferably 2W40 is placed in an oxygen gas atmosphere and is subjected to corona discharge treatment by imposing an electrical energy at a rate of 3,000W8,000J/m2 while keeping the temperature of the foam at 0W120°C. The objective foam having at least one surface having a functional group ratio (O1s/C1s) of 0.1W1.0 detected by X-ray electron spectrometry can be produced by this process.
