To provide a new polypeptide having a PDE (phosphodiesterase) activity, a DNA encoding the PDE polypeptide and medicines for diagnosis, prophylaxis or therapy of diabetes, ischemic heart diseases, hypertension, nephritis, pancreatitis, ulcer, allergy, asthma, rheumatism, osteoporosis, pain, anxiety, schizophrenia, manic-depressive psychosis, Parkinson's disease, dementia, infectious diseases, malignant tumor, etc., by utilizing the DNA or an antibody recognizing the polypeptide.
The new polypeptide has the PDE activity. A method for producing the polypeptide and the DNA encoding the polypeptide are provided. A recombinant vector is obtained by integrating the DNA. A transformant carries the recombinant vector. The antibody recognizes the polypeptide. A method for determining the polypeptide and an immunostaining method use the antibody. A method for screening substances varying the expression of a gene encoding the polypeptide is provided. The medicines, etc., for diagnosis, prophylaxis or therapy of diseases such as diabetes, encephalopathy, renopathy or cancer using the DNA or antibody are provided.
