Title:
POLYPEPTIDE ISOLATED FROM EPIDERMIS AND ITS USE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3819603
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an isolated polypeptide belonging to a cysteine protease group of cathepsin L-type, having a specific apparent molecular weight and useful for reducing corneal cell conjugation and accelerating exfoliation.
SOLUTION: This isolated natural or synthesized polypeptide belongs to a cysteine protease group of cathepsin L-type and has 15-32 KDa, preferably 25-30 KDa apparent molecular weight and 6-9 isoelectric point, and is obtained by preferably isolating from a tissue of a mammal, especially the skin of a mammal, more preferably from the skin of a human, especially from the epidermis of the human. In using it to a pharmaceutical formulation, 0.00001-50%, preferably 0.001-10%, more preferably 0.1-1% of the polypeptide is included in the formulation.
