To obtain a polypropylene resin composition having improved impact resistance and an excellent balance between rigidity and impact resistance as well as high-level rigidity which is a merit of a polypropylene resin by mixing a polypropylene resin with a specified ethylene/α-olefin copolymer.
This composition contains 50-99wt.% polypropylene resin (A) and 1-50wt.% ethylene/α-olefin copolymer (B) satisfying the following requirements (a) to (e):(a) the number of carbon atoms of the α-olefin is 6-20, (b) the density of a sample immersed in hot water at 100°C for 1hr and then left to cool to room temperature is 0.855-0.910g/cm3, (c) the α-olefin content is 10-65wt.%, (d) Mw/Mn is 3 or below, and (e) the relationship: Tm<138-1.5×(SCB) (wherein Tm °C is the peak temperature in a specified thermogram determined by scanning calorimetry, and SCB is the number of short-chain branches per 1,000 skeletal carbon atoms as determined by 13C NMR).
