To provide a novel polysaccharide resin composition that is excellent in surface hardness, resin strength, breaking elongation, flexibility, and a positive birefringence.
A polysaccharide resin composition includes: polysaccharides (A) in which at least two functional groups which at least one polysaccharide chosen from a group consisting of a hydroxyl group, a carboxyl group and an amino group has are modified, and that has at least one functional group chosen from a group consisting of a (meth) acryloyl group, a urethane group, a urea group and an amide group; and a radical initiator (B), wherein a ratio obtained by the following numerical formula (1) is lager than 1 and at most 1,000. The ratio={the total molar number of the following X in the (A)}/{the total molar number of the (meth)acryloyl group in the (A)} (1), where X represents the urethane group, the urea group and the amide group that have substituted the hydroxyl group, the carboxyl group or the amino group of a monosaccharide unit that composes the polysaccharide.
