Abstract:
To provide a polythiol composition that can improve the properties of an optical material produced therefrom, particularly that can increase the softening temperature of the material, leading to improved impact resistance.SOLUTION: A polythiol composition comprises a thiol compound represented by formula (1) and 2,3-dithio(2-mercapto)-1-propane thiol, wherein the mass content of the compound represented by formula (1) in the composition is 0.01-3.0%. Furthermore, the polythiol composition may be used alone or mixed with other polythiol compounds in the presence of a catalyst with one or more polyisocyanates, for preparing an optically transparent material with excellent optical properties.SELECTED DRAWING: None
