To obtain a polyurethane urea having high softening temperature independent of the production process and useful for film, sheet, etc., by reacting an organic polyisocyanate with a specific compound containing active hydrogen group.
The objective polyurethane urea is produced by reacting (A) an organic polyisocyanate such as 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate with (B) a compound containing active hydrogen group and consisting of a port of total of a urea group-containing polyol containing a partial structure expressed by the formula (R is an organic polyisocyanate residue; A is a dihydroxy compound residue; B is H or methyl; (n) is 1-5) in the molecule, having hydroxyl group on the molecular terminal and obtained by reacting (i) an equivalent additive of an organic polyisocyanate such as 2,4-toluene diisocyanate and a lactam such as -caprolactam with (ii) a dihydroxy compound such as ethylene glycol in the presence of (iii) a catalyst such as sodium methoxide.
