PURPOSE: The titled composition excellent in water resistance, hygroscopic property, and blocking resistance, and capable of providing moldings which are flexible and good in nerve strength, comprising PVA, a polyalcohol plasticizer, water, and a polyisocyanate compound.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. PVA (A) of a saponification degree of 70W99% is mixed with 50W300pts.wt. polyalcohol plasticizer (B) (e.g., polyethylene glycol), 200W1,000pts.wt. water (C), and such an amount of polyisocyanate (D) as to provide an equivalent ratio of the isocyanate groups to the sum of the hydroxyl groups of components A and B (NCO:OH) of 1:40W10 (e.g., hexamethylene diisocyanate).
USE: Treatment agents for imparting water absorptivity, hygroscopic property, and moisture permeability to rubber, leather, etc. films, casting products, etc.
