To provide a porous body with small pore size dispersion and its manufacturing method and to provide a method capable of manufacturing the porous body in both shapes of a film and a powder body even if a solution of the same composition is used.
In the porous body having a mesopore, the number of pores having a pore size range of 2-10 nm accounts for ≥90% of the overall pores in a number distribution of pores to pore size obtained by using a Barrett-Joyner-Halenda method, and a standard deviation of the number distribution of pores is ≤10% to the diameter becoming the peak of the number distribution of the pores. In the manufacturing method of the porous body wherein a precursor solution containing a silicon alkoxide and a catalyst and a formation solution containing a nonionic surfactant solution are applied on a substrate and calcinated, a specific triblock copolymer is used as the nonionic surfactant.
