Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous electrode substrate for a fuel cell, in which a short circuit or cross leak of a reaction gas hardly occurs and excess binder in a binding part of carbon fiber on a surface of the substrate is sufficiently removed, a gas diffusion layer, and a gas diffusion electrode.SOLUTION: A porous electrode substrate for a solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell is a carbon fiber sheet and is a porous electrode substrate for a solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell having the maximum thickness of a binder adhered to a carbon fiber binding portion on a surface of the sheet is 5 μm or less. The gas diffusion layer for a solid polymer fuel cell is preferably formed by forming a coating layer including carbon powder and a water repellent agent on at least one surface of the porous electrode substrate for a solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell.SELECTED DRAWING: None
