To provide a production method inexpensively obtainable of a composite metal foil which has excellent characteristics derived from a porous metal foil and also has high usability with reduced characteristic difference between both surfaces in high productivity suitable for continuous production.
The porous metal foil 10 comprises a two-dimensional network structure composed of a metallic fiber 11. The foil 10 has a first surface with rather high glossiness and a second surface with rather low glossiness positioned at the opposite side of the first surface. A ratio GS/GM of the first surface glossiness GS to the second surface glossiness GM is 1 to 15 when measured with incident and reflection angles of both 60° pursuant to JIS Z 8741 (1997).
