Abstract:
To provide a porous metal, such as a porous carbide, having permeability suitable for desired applications, wherein the permeability is prevented from degrading due to formation of an oxide film on particles when the porous metal is used.SOLUTION: This invention provides: a method for controlling permeability, including a step of impregnating particles with a hole-opening agent such as aqueous ammonia, to dissolve the particles and an oxide film, thereby enhancing the permeability; and a controlled porous metal. Moreover, a heating step, a hole-shielding step, a processing step, a hole-reopening step and the like are added to the method, thereby enhancing an effect and providing a porous metal suitable for applications.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
