Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce porous particles of good quality.
SOLUTION: After the primary emulsion 14 is produced by dispersing the first dispersion phase 13 that contains a functional substance for sustained release in the first matrix phase containing the solidifying component, this primary emulsion 14 is dispersed in the second matrix phase 16 to prepare the secondary emulsion 17 and the solidification component is solidified at this state, then the first dispersion part in the primary emulsion is removed to produce porous sustained release particles. In this process, a salt of a prescribed concentration is added to the first matrix phase 11 to control the stability of the secondary emulsion 17 or in addition, the concentration of the salt in the second matrix phase 16 is controlled so that the functional substance is inhibited from releasing on the solidification of the second dispersion phase thereby producing the sustained release particles.
