Title:
POROUS REFRACTORIES AND METHOD OF FIRING CERAMICS USING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3929263
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide porous refractories which are the porous refractories to be used as trays in firing the fired matter and have good air permeability, excellent thermal impact resistance and the strength capable of withstanding the weight of fired matter as the fired matter is rapidly and uniformly fired.
SOLUTION: The porous refractories 10 have the excellent air permeability as granular inorganic aggregates 12 constituting the refractories are bonded to each other by glassy binders 14 in the form of having a multiplicity of open cells 16. The refractories are capable of rapidly and uniformly firing the composition when used as the trays in firing. Since thermal impact resistance additives 18 having a small coefficient of thermal expansion are included therein, the porous refractories have the excellent thermal impact resistance and have the strength capable of withstanding the weight of the fired matter.
