To provide a solid lubricant enhanced in holding capacity of the solid lubricant for holding a lubricating oil and able to reduce the amount of the lubricating oil oozed out by deformation caused by external forces to a minimum necessary amount.
The porous solid lubricant comprises a lubricating component containing the lubricating oil and a resin component as essential components. The resin component is a solid matter made to be porus by foaming and is brought to absorb and occlude the lubricating oil in the resin. Since the lubricating component is absorbed and occluded in the resin in a foamed state, the lubricating component can be slowly oozed out through intermolecular spaces owing to deformation caused by external forces, e.g., compression, expansion, flexing, torsion and the like depending on flexibility of the resin. The amount of the lubricating oil to be retained is larger than that of the lubricating oil retained by mere soaking in the pores.
