Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide porous titanate capable of being suitably used as a metal ion adsorbent and to provide a method of manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing porous titanate comprises: a gelatinization process for obtaining wet gel having titania skeleton by adding a first solution containing strongly acidic anion to a mixture containing titanium alkoxide, chelate agent, water-soluble polymer, and alcoholic solvent; a replacement process for replacing the dispersion medium of the wet gel to a second solution containing alkali metal cation; and a sintering process for obtaining porous titanate by drying and sintering the wet gel processed through the replacement process.
