PURPOSE: To obtain a heat-transmitting body having excellent heat-radiating properties and easy to handle, by providing a porous-type heat-radiating part having an internal part with a sufficient fluid-passing property, a solid base part which is formed in a body with the radiating part and has a surface complementary to a member to be cooled.
CONSTITUTION: A porous heat-radiating part has a void ratio of at least about 50%, and is preferably formed of a material having an excellent thermal conductivity. A porous material 2 used for forming the heat-radiating part may be, for example, a metal such as Al, Cu, Fe, Ni, Zn, Sn, Mg, Ti, Au, Ag and Pt or an alloy thereof or a ceramic containing at least one of MgO, Al2O3, SiO2, CaO, ZrO2, SiC, TiC, AlN, TiB2 and ZrB2. Since a porous member is generally unstable in mechanical strength, it is essential to provide a solid base part 1 in a body with the porous member. For preventing thermal conductivity from being lowered, it is necessary that the two components are originally formed in a body, or are integrated to each other by adhesion through melting of the member itself, adhesion by an adhesive, brazing or the like.
