To provide a highly precise imaging device having a short rise time from power source charge to a waiting state by shortening an off-set correction processing time of the output signal of an optical element position detecting device carried out at the starting of a camera, and to provide a portable apparatus provided with the imaging device.
A lens drive device and the optical element position detecting device are operated by charging a power source of the camera to operate a control device (CPU). A movement operation to a limitless remote reset position of a focusing lens is started (P41 and P42), and off-set correction processing of the output signal of an MR sensor is carried out simultaneously (P43). Drive completion to the limitless remote reset position of the focusing lens is waited (P44), and setting of a photographing waiting state of the camera is completed (P45). The off-set correction processing of the position detecting device is carried out within a moving period to the limitless remote reset position of the focusing lens and, since a specific time for correction processing is not required, the rise time of the camera can be shortened.
